Operation Song

Operation Song empowers veterans, active-duty military members, and their families to tell their stories through the process of songwriting.
 

They give a voice to people who deserve to be heard. The participants need no musical or writing skills, only a willingness to share their stories and, with the help of professional songwriters, transform them into song.
 

I met five courageous people this year (and four last year) who through the power of song connected with a (I think) sold out audience at EPIC Event Center in Green Bay. They sang about their families, their service time, their life after and how the service gave them camaraderie -- but mostly what I take away from this event is how it helps people.
 

How connected the veteran community is and how united they are.

As a musician, a photographer, and a having a dad who is a veteran, this event is one of those that's special to my heart.
 

I know we all have a million problems in this world but if we come together and unite for one thing let's make it music.
